    Features
    Anti-malware for Workstations

    Automatic and on-demand scanning
Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business automatically scans files whenever they’re created, launched or modified. You can also run scans on demand – for individual files, directories, local disks or network disks.

    Active Disinfection
Kaspersky Active Disinfection technology nrates at the lowest levels of an operating system, to neutralise malicious objects.

    Frequent updates and signature-based protection
Kaspersky issues malware database updates on a much more frequent basis than many other vendors. In addition, the use of pattern-based signatures helps to improve the detection of malicious files and also reduce the size of signature updates. Update optimisation helps to minimise the load on your CPUs, hard drives and communications bandwidth – so more of your computing resources are available for your business-critical applications.

    Urgent Detection System
Kaspersky’s Urgent Detection System (UDS) database is updated with information about new malware before a signature has been created – to provide early and effective protection against new IT security threats.

    Behavioural Analysis
Kaspersky’s System Watcher feature provides proactive protection, by analysing each program as the program is launched. It blocks the program if any suspicious behaviour is detected and it can also ‘roll-back’ the system to a point before the malicious activity occurred.

    Cloud-based protection
By gathering information about suspicious behaviour from millions of ‘opted-in’ participants’ systems, the Kaspersky Security Network (KSN) provides a more rapid response to new threats. Third-party tests show that KSN’s response time can be as fast as 0.02 seconds. In addition, KSN helps to reduce the risk of ‘false positives’ – to help ensure that only malicious software is identified… so there’s less disruption to your day-to-day business activities.

Host-based Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS) with Personal Firewall
Kaspersky’s advanced firewall protects endpoints from network threats, by controlling inbound and outbound traffic – according to the port, IP address, the application that is generating the traffic or other parameters. With predefined rules for over 250 of the most commonly used applications, Kaspersky also helps you to reduce the time taken to configure your firewall protection.

    Network Attack Blocker
Network Attack Blocker tracks suspicious network activity. If an attempted attack is detected, Network Attack Blocker responds according to pre-defined criteria.

    Advanced Anti-Malware for Workstations

    Multi-layer anti-malware

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business SELECT delivers a combination of Kaspersky’s latest signature-based anti-malware, heuristic-based protection and also cloud-assisted technologies. This powerful combination helps to ensure superior, real-time anti-malware protection for your business.

    Cloud-assisted security

The cloud-based Kaspersky Security Network (KSN) automatically gathers information about potential malware and suspicious behaviour that is occurring on any of millions of users’ systems. Although customers can choose whether to opt in or opt out of letting KSN collect information, all Kaspersky customers benefit from KSN’s ability to collect real-time data about potential threats and deliver a much more rapid response to newly identified threats. Third-party tests show that Kaspersky – assisted by its KSN technology – can identify some new threats in as little as 0.02 seconds. In addition, KSN’s real-time collection of information helps to minimise the occurrence of ‘false positives’.

    System Watcher

Whenever an application launches on your network, Kaspersky’s System Watcher feature analyses how the application behaves. When System Watcher detects any suspicious behaviour, the application will be blocked. If the suspicious behaviour has resulted in some malicious activity, it’s easy to ‘roll-back’ your system to its previous state.

    UDS – Urgent Detection System

When a new item of malware is unleashed on the world, there is obviously a period of high risk – before a new malware signature can be released and distributed to users’ machines. To deliver earlier protection against new threats, Kaspersky runs an Urgent Detection System (UDS) database that is updated with information about newly discovered malware.

    Active Disinfection technology

Kaspersky’s Active Disinfection technology works at the lowest levels of a computer’s operating system and neutralises malicious objects.

Host-based Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS) with Personal Firewall

Kaspersky’s advanced firewall helps to defend your corporate network against attacks. Inbound and outbound traffic are controlled in accordance with a choice of parameters – such as by application, individual port or IP address.

    Blocking network attacks

Network Attack Blocker technology detects and tracks suspicious activity on your corporate network – and then responds in accordance with preconfigured criteria.

    Frequent anti-malware updates

Kaspersky updates its malware database much more often than many other security vendors can achieve. This helps to ensure you benefit from more rapid protection against the latest malware. At the same time, Kaspersky’s use of pattern-based signatures boosts malware detection rates and helps to minimise the size of the updates that are downloaded onto your network.

In addition, Kaspersky technologies automatically detect rooting / jailbreak incidents.

    Enabling encryption

To help prevent your sensitive business data falling into the wrong hands, Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business SELECT makes it easy to enable and manage the encryption features that are provided on most popular mobile devices.

    Secure containers for corporate data

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) initiatives can result in significant issues – including the problem of separating and securing corporate data on a device that also holds the user’s personal information. Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business SELECT includes Kaspersky’s Containerisation technology. It’s easy to set up a separate container – within the user’s mobile device – so that corporate data is separated from the user’s personal data. You can enforce additional security for the container – by enabling automatic encryption within the container and / or demanding additional user authorisation before an application is allowed to launch.
In the event of an employee leaving the company, it’s easy to ensure sensitive corporate data is no longer stored on their personal mobile device. Kaspersky technology gives you remote access to the corporate container – so you can delete the container and all corporate data, without deleting the owner’s personal data on the device.

    Anti-theft features for mobile devices

If a user’s mobile device is lost or stolen, remotely operated security features help you to protect corporate data and prevent access to your corporate network. You can remotely lock the mobile device, delete corporate data and find the device’s approximate location. If a thief changes the SIM card in the device, Kaspersky’s SIM Watch feature will send you the new SIM’s telephone number.

    Wide-ranging MDM capabilities

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business SELECT includes flexible mobile device management (MDM) tools that fully support all functionality in Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, Apple MDM Server.
Kaspersky technologies make it easy for administrators to:

You can enable a Default Allow policy that blocks blacklisted applications, or apply a Default Deny policy that only allows whitelisted applications to launch.

    Whitelisting

Currently, Kaspersky is the only company that has invested in its own Whitelist Lab. The Lab assesses the security status of common applications and determines whether they can be added to the whitelist database of programs that are safe to run. The information from Kaspersky’s dynamic whitelisting service helps to support effective Application Control.

Whitelist updates are delivered from the cloud-based Kaspersky Security Network – which helps to ensure the very latest whitelist information is available to Kaspersky’s customers.

    Controlling devices

It’s easy for users to attach removable devices to almost any system on the corporate network – and those devices may prove to be the source of malware infections or could be used to steal confidential business data. Kaspersky’s Device Control features enable you to ensure that only authorised devices are attached to your corporate network – and also ensure they are only used for legitimate processes:

    • You can control device access privileges – to help eliminate the risk of data loss or the introduction of malware from unauthorised devices. Access privileges can be set up according to the type of device, its bus or a specific device’s serial number.
    • To help ensure your users are productive during working hours – and your ‘data in motion’ policies are complied with – Device Control also lets you specify the times during which specific controls are applied.
    Controlling web usage

Web Control functions give you an easy way to monitor and filter your users’ web browser activities – according to category, content or type of data. It’s easy to prohibit, limit, allow or audit your users’ activities on individual websites or categories of sites, such as games websites, social networks or gambling sites. Web Control helps to ensure users are not able to access infected sites or inappropriate content – and it helps to boost day-to-day productivity.

    Controls (Application, Device, Web)

    Protecting complex, heterogeneous IT estates*

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business ADVANCED helps businesses to protect a wide variety of platforms, such as Mac, Linux and Windows – including the new Windows 8.1 and OS X 10.9 Mavericks operating systems.

    Defending against new malware threats

Because cybercriminals are continually launching new and more complex malware, it’s vital that your defences are as up-to-date as possible. Kaspersky delivers malware database updates on a much more frequent basis than is offered by many other security software providers. In addition, Kaspersky’s use of pattern-based signatures helps to improve malware detection rates, reduce the size of update files and reduce the load on your IT resources.

    Urgent Detection System

Kaspersky continually updates its Urgent Detection System database, with its latest information about newly discovered malware. This means Kaspersky can help to defend your IT infrastructure against emerging threats – even before a new malware signature can be released.

    Deep-level security

With its Active Disinfection technology, Kaspersky can deliver protection against malicious code at the lowest levels of a computer’s operating system.

    Monitoring how your applications behave

When an application launches on your corporate network, Kaspersky’s System Watcher technology will monitor the application’s behaviour. If any suspicious behaviour is detected, Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business ADVANCED will automatically block the application.

    Preventing attacks by hackers

Kaspersky’s Host-based Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS) and personal firewall help you to manage and control both inbound and outbound traffic. You can set parameters for individual ports, IP addresses or specific applications.

    Network Attack Blocker

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business ADVANCED includes a special Network Attack Blocker feature that detects and monitors suspicious activities on your corporate network. The feature also lets you preconfigure how your systems will react if any suspicious behaviour is identified.

    Cloud-assisted protection

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business ADVANCED includes Kaspersky Security Network (KSN) – a cloud-based service that automatically collects information about suspicious behaviour and malware on millions of consenting customers’ computers. This real-time flow of information ensures that Kaspersky can deliver a faster response to the emergence of new malware – and helps to minimise the occurrence of ‘false positives’. Independent assessments confirm that KSN helps Kaspersky to identify new threats within as little as 0.02 seconds.

*Not all features are available on all platforms.

    Protecting File Servers

    Protecting heterogeneous IT infrastructure

Kaspersky’s award-winning antivirus engine delivers rigorous anti-malware protection for file servers running Windows, Linux or FreeBSD. Optimised scanning helps to ensure there’s minimal impact on the performance of your servers. In addition to running on cluster servers, Kaspersky anti-malware also protects Microsoft and Citrix terminal servers.

    Robust anti-malware protection

If one of your file servers develops a fault, Kaspersky’s anti-malware technologies will automatically re-launch when your file server restarts.

    Manageability and reporting

Easy-to-use management and reporting features help to cut the time taken to set up security for your file servers and to create detailed reports.

    Simplifying Systems Management

    Automated IT asset management

Keeping track of all of the hardware and software assets on the corporate network can be challenging. However, it’s a vital task – to help ensure your administrators can identify every asset and apply the appropriate controls and security to every component.
Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business ADVANCED automatically discovers every device and software item that’s present on your corporate network. Every asset is then recorded within a hardware inventory or a software inventory – so it’s easier for you to manage security for each item.
The software inventory includes information about licences and expiry dates, to help you centralise licence provisioning and ensure licences are renewed at the appropriate time

    Vulnerability scanning and patch management

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business ADVANCED can automatically scan your corporate network to detect the presence of any unpatched vulnerabilities within operating systems or applications. It works with the Microsoft WSUS database, the Secunia Vulnerability Database and Kaspersky’s own database of vulnerabilities. Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business ADVANCED can regularly synchronise data on Microsoft hotfixes and updates – and then install them across your network – while also downloading information about patches for your non-Microsoft applications, directly from Kaspersky’s servers.

Simplify the deployment of operating systems

Kaspersky systems management technologies can save you time by automating the creation and cloning of computer images. You can store your images within a special inventory, so they’re available for access during deployment.

    Application provisioning

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business ADVANCED also simplifies the distribution of applications across your IT infrastructure. The application deployment process is totally transparent to your users – and software can be deployed on command or you can set up a schedule for after office hours.

    Remote troubleshooting

Remote access features help administrators to perform remote troubleshooting on any computer on the corporate network. In addition, if you need to install new applications at a remote office, you can use one local workstation as the update agent that delivers the new application to every other computer on the remote site – so you can reduce network traffic.

    Network Access Control

For security and anti-malware protection, it’s essential that businesses are able to control whether individual devices are permitted or denied access to the corporate network. Because Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business ADVANCED automatically discovers devices, administrators can automatically block a visitor’s device from accessing the network. Similarly, employees’ devices can be automatically checked for the presence of malware and to ensure they are running the security software that you require. If a device is found to contain malware – or isn’t running your mandatory security software – Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business ADVANCED will automatically block it from your network.
If you wish to allow visitors to access the Internet – but not access your corporate systems and data – it’s easy to set up a captive portal.

    Encrypting Data

    Secure Cryptography

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business ADVANCED includes data encryption technology that uses an AES encryption algorithm with 256 bits of key length. This ensures strong encryption of your business’s confidential information.

    Data encryption choices

Both file-level encryption (FLE) and full disk encryption (FDE) are included within Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business ADVANCED:

    - FDE operates on the physical sectors of the disk – for encryption that’s ‘close to the hardware’. FDE also helps you to operate an ‘encrypt everything at once’ strategy.

    - FLE lets you encrypt individual files or folders. It can be very useful in enabling the secure sharing of confidential information across your network.

You can also use a combination of FLE and FDE, so that an entire hard drive can be encrypted and individually encrypted files can also be securely shared over your local network.

For a group of computers, you can use FDE to encrypt the data on each computer’s hard drive, while also using FLE to encrypt the data held on removable storage devices. By using this combination, the data on each computer is encrypted and the information that’s stored on the removable drives is also encrypted for secure use outside your network.

    Integrated encryption enhances manageability

Although many vendors’ encryption products are not delivered as part of an integrated IT security solution, Kaspersky’s encryption technologies are one component within a unified codebase that has all been developed by Kaspersky’s in-house security experts. This level of integration makes it easier for you to apply encryption settings as part of the same policies that cover your anti-malware defences, endpoint controls and settings for other Kaspersky protection technologies.

    Encryption that’s transparent to users

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business ADVANCED performs all encryption and decryption processes ‘on the fly’. The processes ensure that there’s no need for any non-encrypted versions of encrypted data to be present on any of your hard drives. As the encryption and decryption processes are transparent to your users, encryption and decryption needn’t affect your users’ productivity.

    Application privilege control

Application privilege control lets you set up specific access encryption rules for applications and usage scenarios, when you’re performing file-level encryption tasks. It’s easy to manage whether an individual application is:

    • Permitted to access data in its encrypted state, or
    • Is allowed to access the data in unencrypted form, or
    • Is totally blocked from accessing the data

The decryption process is transparent to the application.

Application privilege control helps you to ensure that encrypted data remains encrypted during transfer, storage and restoration – regardless of the policy settings at the endpoint where the data is being restored. Application privilege control can also block the exchange of encrypted files via Skype or Instant Messaging – while not affecting the legitimate use of Skype and Instant Messaging.

    Securely transferring encrypted data

By enabling users to generate password-protected, encrypted, self-extracting packages of files and folders, Kaspersky’s encryption technologies help in the secure transfer and sharing of confidential information via email, the Internet or removable storage devices.

    Escrowed storage of decryption keys

In the event of a system failure – even if a computer’s operating system is unable to boot – administrators can still decrypt data by using a device-unique key that is held in escrow within Kaspersky Security Center.

    Recovering forgotten passwords

When a user forgets their password, a challenge / response mechanism helps them to recover their pre-boot password.

Mobile Security** and Mobile Device Management**

Security for mobile devices – and the data stored on them

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business ADVANCED offers a multi-layer combination of signature-based anti-malware protection, heuristic analysis and cloud-assisted technologies – to protect a wide range of mobile platforms.

    Control tools for mobile devices

Using Application Control, administrators can manage and restrict the usage of applications – so that only company-approved software is allowed to run and unwanted or grey applications are not able to launch.
Web Control tools help administrators to block malicious websites and also control access to sites that don’t conform to corporate security or usage policies – such as social media, gambling, retail, recruitment and adult sites, plus proxy servers.
In addition, Kaspersky technologies automatically detect any rooting or jailbreak incidents.

    Enabling encryption on mobile devices

To help prevent your business data falling into the wrong hands, Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business ADVANCED makes it easy to enable and manage the encryption features that are included on most popular mobile devices.

    Containerising corporate data for BYOD

Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business ADVANCED lets you separate corporate data and personal data on the user’s mobile device. By setting up a special container for corporate applications, you can apply an additional layer of security for your corporate data – including the ability to encrypt the container and / or demand additional user authorisation before a containerised application is allowed to launch.
If an employee leaves the company, you can selectively wipe the container and all related corporate data, while leaving the owner’s personal information untouched – to help ensure you benefit from a more secure BYOD implementation.

    Mobile anti-theft technologies

Remotely-operated anti-theft technologies help you to protect data that’s stored on a lost or stolen mobile device. You can lock the missing device, find its approximate location and delete any confidential business information that’s stored on it. If a thief fits a new SIM card to a stolen device, the SIM Watch feature will send you the new phone number for the device. You’re then able to run the remote lock, find and data wiping functions.

    Easy-to-use MDM

With far-reaching mobile device management (MDM) capabilities – including full support for Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, Apple MDM Server – Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business ADVANCED simplifies the distribution of Kaspersky mobile security software and the task of configuring mobile application controls.

Kaspersky’s security software can be delivered to mobile devices over the air or via a tether. Administrators can:

    • Enforce PIN settings
    • Define the required complexity for passwords
    • Control encryption features
    • Prevent the use of the mobile device’s camera
    • Manage other related features

There is no need to use separate consoles – all MDM and mobile security actions can be performed from Kaspersky’s single management console.

**Only available for mobile platforms specified on the Kaspersky list of supported platforms. Not all features are available for some of the supported mobile platforms.

Application Control, Device Control and Web Control

Easy-to-configure Application Control tools assist administrators in managing which applications are allowed to launch on the corporate network – and also control how the applications are permitted to run:

    • Application Startup Control – controls the launch of each application, so you can easily allow, block or audit individual applications
    • Application Monitor – monitors programs and lets you categorise them as ‘untrusted’, ‘restricted’ or ‘trusted’ applications
    • Application Privilege Control – lets you control whether an application is allowed to access specific system resources, including the registry and the file system
    • A choice of Default Allow or Default Deny:
    Dynamic whitelisting

Kaspersky is the only security vendor that has invested in setting up its own Whitelist Lab. The lab is responsible for assessing the security of commonly used applications and continually issuing updates for Kaspersky’s whitelist database of applications that are safe to run.
The whitelist updates are delivered from the cloud-enabled Kaspersky Security Network, to ensure Kaspersky customers benefit from up-to-date whitelisting data.

    Controls for devices

Small, removable devices can be easily attached to computers – so businesses need to guard against the use of unauthorised devices that may be a source of malware or can be used to steal corporate information. Kaspersky’s Device Control technologies let you:

    • Control the access privileges granted to devices. You can set different privileges for:
    • Manage the times during which your selected device control policies are in operation – for example, to prevent the use of removable devices after office hours
    Controls for web access

Web Control technologies let you monitor and filter each employee’s web browser usage. You can allow, block, limit or audit users’ access to individual websites or categories of websites – including games websites, gambling sites or social networks – and ensure employees are not using the corporate network to access inappropriate content from the Internet.

    One Integrated Management Console
Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business ADVANCED includes Kaspersky Security Center – the centralised management console that simplifies the management of virtually all Kaspersky security technologies that you run on your corporate network. The use of a single management console – for an array of different systems management and IT security tasks – means administrators don’t have to keep switching between different management interfaces for different day-to-day administration activities.

    Anti-Malware – For Your Desktops & Laptops
    Delivering multi-layer protection against malware

By combining signature-based, heuristic and cloud-assisted anti-malware technologies, Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business protects businesses against known and emerging threats.

    Securing multiple platforms**

Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business provides anti-malware protection for Mac, Linux and Windows platforms.

Protecting against today’s sophisticated malware attacks

Kaspersky delivers malware database updates much more frequently than many other anti-malware vendors – so your business gets the latest protection against zero-day threats. Kaspersky’s pattern-based signatures help to improve malware detection rates and reduce the size of database updates – so you benefit from better security and reduced load on your network.

    Delivering protection against new threats

Because Kaspersky’s Urgent Detection System database is continually being updated with data about new malware discoveries, Kaspersky can protect your corporate network against the latest threats and attacks – even before a new malware signature has been released.

    Detecting suspicious behaviour

Kaspersky’s System Watcher automatically monitors how applications behave when they’re running on your systems. If System Watcher detects suspicious behaviour, Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business will block the application.

Using the power of the cloud to protect your business

With millions of Kaspersky users having opted in to let the cloud-based Kaspersky Security Network (KSN) gather data about malware or suspicious behaviour on their computers, your business can benefit from this valuable information – even if you don’t opt in. KSN’s continual collection of real-time data about threats helps Kaspersky to provide every customer with a rapid response to new attacks – and also reduces the incidence of ‘false positives’. Independent tests have shown Kaspersky’s cloud-assisted protection can respond to new threats in as little as 0.02 seconds.

    Defeating hackers

Kaspersky’s Host-based Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS) and personal firewall give you flexible control over inbound and outbound traffic. You can set up parameters for a specific port, IP address or application.

    Blocking network attacks

Kaspersky’s Network Attack Blocker technology detects and monitors suspicious activities on your corporate network – and lets you preconfigure how your systems will respond if any suspicious behaviour is identified.

    Active Disinfection

With Kaspersky’s Active Disinfection technology working at the lowest levels of a computer’s operating system, Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business delivers even deeper protection against malicious code.

Anti-Malware – For Your File Servers

    Protecting multiple platforms

With its world-class antivirus engine – and optimised scanning processes – Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business protects file servers running Windows, Linux or FreeBSD, without any significant impact on server performance. As well as providing security for cluster servers, Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business protects terminal servers – including Microsoft and Citrix.

To help minimise the time required to configure security for your file servers, Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business includes easy-to-use management tools – plus reporting features.

    Robust anti-malware

When a file server suffers a failure or an unplanned shut down, Kaspersky’s anti-malware application will re-launch when the file server restarts.

Flexible controls – Application, Device & Web

    Application Control

Application Control tools give you granular control over how applications are allowed to run on your corporate network:

    • Application Startup Control – lets you grant, block or audit each application
    • Application Monitor – lets you monitor and classify each application as untrusted, restricted or trusted
    • Application Privilege Control – lets you manage whether an application is allowed to access specific system resources, such as the file system or the registry

You can easily implement a Default Deny or Default Allow policy:

        • Default Deny blocks all programs, except whitelisted applications
        • Default Allow only blocks blacklisted applications.
    Dynamic whitelisting

As the only security vendor that has invested in establishing its own Whitelist Lab, Kaspersky assesses commonly used applications and checks them for security risks. Updates for Kaspersky’s dynamic whitelist of applications are automatically downloaded from the cloud-enabled Kaspersky Security Network – ensuring Kaspersky customers benefit from our latest whitelist data.

    Device Control

Device Control features make it easy to manage the use of removable devices and protect against the security risks that unauthorised devices can introduce. Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business lets you:

    • Manage access privileges – for a specific type of device, a device bus or an individual device (according to its unique serial number)
    • Preconfigure the times when your device control policies apply – such as preventing the use of devices outside your normal office hours
    Web Control

Flexible Web Control tools help administrators to:

    • Monitor and filter each employee’s web browser usage
    • Permit, prohibit, limit or audit users’ access to specific websites or categories of websites – including games sites, gambling websites or social networking sites

Systems Management – For Greater Efficiency

Managing your hardware, software & licences

With corporate IT networks growing in complexity, the task of monitoring and managing hardware and software assets has become much more difficult. Gaining total visibility of every hardware and software asset is an essential step in ensuring you can apply appropriate protection to every component on your corporate network.
By automatically discovering all hardware and software in your IT environment – and recording all items within hardware and software inventories – Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business gives you detailed visibility of all of your IT assets, so it’s easier to:

    • Monitor the security status of your systems
    • Apply the necessary security settings
    • Centralise your software licence provisioning – and identify breaches of licence conditions.
Automatic vulnerability scanning – plus patch management

Automatic vulnerability scanning detects the presence of any unpatched vulnerabilities in the Windows operating system and applications on your network. Working with Microsoft’s WSUS database, the Secunia Vulnerability Database and Kaspersky’s own database of vulnerabilities, Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business can regularly synchronise data on Microsoft updates and hotfixes and automatically distribute them to your systems. For many non-Microsoft applications, information about new patches can be downloaded from Kaspersky’s own servers.

    Simplifying OS deployment

With automatic features for creating and cloning computer images, Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business helps to optimise operating system deployment. Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business stores your computer images in a special inventory, so they can easily be accessed during deployment.

    Application provisioning

Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business simplifies the distribution of applications – by enabling administrators to deploy software on command or according to their own schedule, such as after working hours. The application deployment process is transparent to users.

    Remote troubleshooting and software deployment

Remote access helps you to ensure rapid resolution of problems on any computer on your corporate network. If you need to install new software at a remote office, Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business lets you use one local workstation as the update agent for the entire remote site. This can greatly reduce the volume of traffic on your corporate network.

    Network Access Control

Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business automatically discovers devices, so you can control which devices are allowed to access your corporate network. In addition, you can easily check that each user’s device complies with your corporate security policies – and block network access for any employee’s device that does not comply. If you need to let visitors’ devices access the Internet – without accessing confidential corporate data – Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business lets you set up a captive portal.

Encryption – to Protect Your Data
    Strong encryption

Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business employs an AES encryption algorithm with 256 bits of key length, to ensure strong encryption of confidential data.

File-level encryption and full disk encryption

Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business provides both file-level encryption (FLE) and full disk encryption (FDE) – with FDE operating on the physical sectors of the hard disk, to deliver encryption that’s ‘close to the hardware’:

      - FLE lets you encrypt individual files – to help ensure data can be shared securely, across your network
      - FDE makes it easy to adopt an ‘encrypt everything at once’ approach

By using a combination of both FLE and FDE on a system’s internal hard drive, you can encrypt the entire hard drive – while ensuring individually encrypted files can be securely shared across your network.
For a group of computers, you can use FDE on each computer’s hard disk and use FLE on removable storage devices. This ensures that all data on each computer’s hard disk is encrypted – while data stored on removable drives is also encrypted, for secure use beyond your corporate network.

    Sharing data outside your network

Users can create password-protected, encrypted, self-extracting packages of files and folders – so data can be securely shared, via email, the Web or removable devices.

    Application privilege control

When you run file-level encryption (FLE), application privilege control lets you define data access rules for specific applications. You can select whether an individual application is:

    • Blocked from accessing the encrypted data
    • Allowed to access the data in its encrypted form
    • Allowed to access unencrypted data

The decryption process is transparent to the application.
By ensuring encrypted data remains encrypted during transfer, storage and restoration – regardless of the policy settings at the endpoint where the data is restored – Kaspersky’s application privilege control features help you to create secure backups.
Application privilege control can also block the exchange of encrypted files via Instant Messaging (IM) or Skype – without affecting the legitimate use of IM or Skype.

    Encryption that doesn’t affect productivity

All of Kaspersky’s encryption and decryption processes are executed ‘on the fly’. Non-encrypted versions of encrypted data are never present on a system’s hard drive as a result of Kaspersky’s processes. Furthermore, all encryption and decryption processes are transparent to your users – so employee productivity is not affected.

    Storing decryption keys in escrow

If a computer develops a fault, a device-unique key – stored in escrow within Kaspersky Security Center – lets you decrypt data that’s stored within the faulty computer. Even if the computer’s operating system won’t boot, you’ll still be able to decrypt the data.

    Recovering users’ passwords

When a user forgets their password, a challenge / response mechanism allows the recovery of the pre-boot password.

    Integrated encryption and protection technologies

Kaspersky’s encryption and endpoint protection technologies are all part of the same unified codebase – to ensure a level of integration that enables you to configure a combination of encryption, anti-malware and endpoint control settings within a single policy.

Mobile Security and Mobile Device Management***

    Protecting mobile devices

Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business protects a wide range of mobile platforms – including Android (plus special support for Samsung’s SAFE criteria for secure mobile devices), iOS, Windows Phone 8, Windows Mobile, BlackBerry and Symbian – against the latest malware threats. Because Kaspersky combines traditional, signature-based protection and proactive, cloud-based technologies – such as Kaspersky Security Network – your mobile devices can be protected against newly discovered threats.

Controlling application launches and website usage

Application Control features give you control over which applications are allowed to launch on any mobile devices that are permitted access to your corporate network. You can implement a ‘default allow’ policy – that only blocks blacklisted applications – or choose a ‘default deny’ policy, so that only non-whitelisted applications are blocked.
In addition, Web Control tools make it easy to block malicious websites and control access to websites that don’t conform to your corporate security or Internet usage policies – including social networking, recruitment, retailing, gambling and adult websites, plus proxy servers.
Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business can also detect and report jailbreak or rooting incidents.

    Protecting confidential corporate data

To help prevent your business data falling into the wrong hands, Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business makes it easy to enable and manage the encryption features provided on most popular mobile devices.

Separating corporate and personal data – for BYOD

Kaspersky TOTAL Security for Business lets you separate corporate data and personal data on the user’s mobile device. By setting up a special container for each corporate application, you can enable the encryption of corporate data and you can ensure the device requests additional authorisation before a containerised application is allowed to launch.
If an employee leaves the business, all corporate data can be selectively wiped from their mobile device – to prevent the leakage of confidential corporate data, without deleting the employee’s personal data.

Protecting confidential information on a missing mobile device

If a mobile device is lost or stolen, remotely-operated features give you the ability to:

    • Lock the device
    • Delete the corporate data – or all the data – that’s stored on the device
    • Find the device’s approximate location

If someone changes the SIM in the missing device, Kaspersky’s SIM Watch technology will automatically send you the device’s new phone number. You can then continue to operate the remote lock, find and data wiping features.

    Simplifying mobile management

All mobile security and MDM features are centrally managed, from a single administration console. Kaspersky mobile device management (MDM) functionality includes support for:

    • Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync
    • Apple MDM Server
    • Samsung SAFE

Kaspersky’s extensive MDM capabilities simplify the deployment of Kaspersky’s mobile security agent and any other applications you wish to distribute – either over the air (OTA) or via a tether.
